Nayantara (born as Diana Mariam Kurian)[1] is an Indian film actress, who mainly appears in South Indian cinema. She made her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare and followed with the successful Vismayathumbathu (2004) before foraying into Tamil and Telugu cinema. She debuted in Tamil Cinema with Ayya (2005), and went on to appear in the commercially successful Ghajini (2005), while Chandramukhi (2005), in particular, became one the most successful Tamil films turning Nayantara into one of the most sought after actresses in Tamil Cinema.[2] She debuted in Telugu Cinema with Lakshmi (2006) and featured in the successful venture Tulasi (2007). Her role in Sri Rama Rajyam (2011) brought her much acclaim, thus she became one of the leading actresses of the South Indian film industry. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress and Nandi Award for Best Actress
